18 May 2023 – The Sabah Birdwatchers Association, with the support of the Sabah Tourism Board, organized a press conference to officially launch the 2023 Asian Bird Fair. The press conference was attended by over 10 media representatives and was officiated by the Sabah State Minister of Tourism, YB Datuk Christina Liew.
